Members of Seventh Day Adventist church at Abia North Conference have sealed the Church’s headquarters at Umuoriehi, Umuahia North LGA and told the presiding Pastor, Enyinnaya Uguru and his executives to step down.
The dramatic incident happened immediately after church service on Saturday.
They accused the church leaders of allegedly refusing to conduct elections for the emergence of a new leadership, even after spending 12 years in charge of the church.
The members who said their protest was peaceful, however warned that they would no longer allow the man of God and his executive to preside over the affairs of the church until they conducted a new election as well as vacate their seats for eventual winners.
The church building was sealed on Saturday during a supposed worship day while the action was carried out by members of the Church drawn from 17 districts that make up the Abia North Conference.

During the dramatic invasion, property belonging the Pastor Uguru and members of his executives were thrown out by the enraged members who also vowed not to allow church executive remain in charge of their church.
Led by Brother Godson Chukwuocha and Mrs Pricilla Ogidi during the invasion, the church members who said they came from 17 different districts of the Abia North Conference of Seventh Day Adventist church, passed a vote of no confidence in their Pastor and his other executives.
They therefore threw away the Pastor and his executive members’ household items and locked the church rooms and gate to the the entire building.
Singing and dancing, the Seventh Day members vowed that the church would remain locked unless the Pastor and other EXCO handed over the affairs of the church.
