Governor Alex Otti of Abia State has approved the appointment of 24 new Permanent Secretaries into the State civil service.
In a letter signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Kenneth Kalu, the 24 new Permanent Secretaries are to visit the office of the state Head of service for further instructions.
The new Secretaries are:

6. Ogechokwu I.Maduka
7. Izuchukwu Onwughara

10. Ifeyinwa B.Uma-Kalu
11. Ogechi Becky Oguama
12. Ijeoma Clara Dim
13. Ńwanyieze O.Otum
14. Ugonma Mercy Jimonu

24. Sir Onwuegbu Christopher Nlewedim. Meanwhile, the fate of most of the Perm Secs suspended in June, 2023 by Governor Otti, appear dashed as they may not be recalled back again into the service. A close source in Abia State civil service who spoke under anonymity said most of the suspended top civil servants would have already proceeded on retirement leave, in line with the 8-years-for Directors policy of the present government.
