The General Manager of Owerri Capital Development Authority, OCDA, Hon Innocent Ikpaemzie has stated that the authority has been re-organized to be effective, service oriented and also productive.
Hon Ikpaemzie revealed this during a recent chat with newsmen in Owerri, where he said that OCDA is no longer a market where touts and thugs gather to molest their prospective clients, and as such caused confusion in the place.
He said that since the inception of the new government of Shared Prosperity led by Governor Hope Uzodinma the organization of OCDA has been strengthened to foster peace and development, which have contributed to skyrocket the Internally Generated Revenue, IGR of the authority.
The General Manager explained that the former financial statements of the place were used to be record with between #25million to #30million, but presently they are at the close of #70million and above as the IGR.
He maintained that they were able to achieve the increase in IGR because of the cooperation of staff who work peacefully as a team, and also with the instruction of the governor on zero tolerance to corruption in the place, adding that OCDA is fully in compliance with the Treasury Single Account, TSA.
Reacting on the allegation of nonpayment of Imo State workers salary and pensioners, Hon Ikpaemzie said that part of the blames should be attributed to the management of some of the institutions whose workers are complaining of non-payments because they have failed to do the needful as required by the governor.
He stated that most of them have not been able to explain the double appearances of the names of their workers in the schedule lists of payment, while some of them, their biometric verification number does not reflect their real name, stating that the same situations occurred on most pensioners who worked in two different sections in the State. These he explained caused the delay in payments of some of those who are complaining of non-payment.
The General Manager further said that Governor Uzodinma is not only considering payment of workers salary and pensioners as achievement, because he wanted to move the State to another level of development, where it will be all inclusive for the state to move forward.
He appealed to Imolites to show the governor love, by embracing the programs of the Shared prosperity government, which is aimed at stimulating sustainable growth and development.
