Assistance Inspector General of Police, AIG Abayomi Peter Oladipo, of the Zonal Headquarters Ukpo, Dunukofia Local Government Area of Anambra has stated that his arrival at the zone is not the destroy the security architecture of the states but to help in improving the situation and reducing criminality to the nearest minimum.
AIG Oladipo disclosed this on Tuesday, 18th March, 2025 at the Zonal 13 Headquarters, Ukpo, Dunukofia L.G.A of Anambra state during the official welcome as the 8 substantive AIG in charge of Zone 13.
Speaking shortly after the parade, the Assistance Inspector of Police, Abayomi Peter Oladipo expressed happiness for the warm welcome from the zone and called on all security agencies to sit up so as to harness the security situation in the States and be able to reduce criminality in its barest minimum.
“You were aware that the Command was created to coordinate and harmonise the activites of checkmating crime and bringing peace to the region. I have not come to destroy the security architecture in the state but to improve it in line with the Inspector General of Police. The vision and mission statement are simple, to create Police rule of law abiding, create good service delivery for the good people of the states under this Zonal command and the Federation at large”.
I am not mindful of the situation in the zone and this zone cannot do it alone hence there is need for synergy and collaboration. We have non state and state actors so there is need to synergize with any group that fights insecurity. We need you to work with you for us to benefit”.
I want to state that if you see something you must say something. It is cheaper to prevent crime before it happens than when it happened.
Once again I thank you for welcoming me and also seek your support while I do my service in the zone/region. I have been briefed on the activities of the Anambra state government in tackling the challenge that have bedevilled the state”.
I am here to collaborate with the good people with a view to reduce crime and criminality. We are to collaborate with other commands to tackle the menace of banditry and crime.
AIG Oladipo however called on the good citizens of the state to always express the mantra ‘ when you see something, say something nothing that the protection of lives and property of the people is everyone’s business.
