Tell me more about yourself?
My name is Rev. Emmanuel Ikechukwu Omeokwe, by the special grace of God, I am the vision bearer of the Heaven Links Believers International Network.
Please can you expatiate on the Network and what does it mean?
Heaven Link Believers International Network is purely a non denominational Christ believers movement in the pursuit of heaven on earth agenda of our Lord Jesus Christ. You know Christ has been ordained to be the mouth piece of God which God himself okayed in the book of Matthew 17 vs 5 – it said, this is my beloved son in whom I’m well pleased. He said we should hear him but when Jesus came, He taught us the way we should pray, that means he is telling us the heartbeat of the father.
He is telling us the desire of the father. He said we should pray like this: ‘Our Father, who art in heaven…’, that means God wants the earth to be administered by the standard of heaven. Today, the world we have is it what we are getting? This earth we live in is an estate of the Lord. He owns this earth. He established it and its foundation. Unfortunately, people have entered the earth and have begun to do their own things and that is why you see the earth is running riot against everybody. It was the restoration of that order that Jesus asked that we should pray like He taught us. We have the mandate of restoring the original agenda of the Lord concerning the earth we are in and it is upon this mandate that HELBIN is called upon, which is heaven on earth society. The mission of HELBIN is raising and promoting Christ-centered leaders whose love for Christ shall form the bedrock of our common existence world over”.
How long has the Network been in existence?
HELBIN has been around for quite some time now. It started way back in South Africa. In one way we have had some series of events, we have had summits, conferences, workshops and so many of such. All these were aimed at re-awakening the consciousness of the reality of the moment, the reality that God has ordained concerning this earth upon His people. So you know, every vision will go through its own moments, tests and trials, which actually came heavily upon us in 2018-2020 especially. We thank God, we are not taken by surprise. The Lord talked to me about the foundation. He said to me, a wise man is a man who builds his house upon a solid rock `so that when the wind comes it will stand. He said a foolish man is a man who builds his house on a sand because he want people to applaud him, he wants people to see him as a great man, and all what nots. The Lord said to me, when the wind will come, because according to Him, the wind will come. What the Lord showed to me actually was what we experienced, so many things came that attacked our finances, betrayal left, right and centre, attacked everything but God has been with us. So HELBIN has gone a long way, after the storm, the calm has been restored and today we are stronger.
What are your strategies in mobilizing for this mandate?
Thank you for that question, we are now moving forward and we are doing so many things to ensure that the heaven on earth is ascertained and one of the pathways to do that is to ensure that Christ centered leaders are promoted into respective places of authority. I am talking politically. I say is high time Christians wake up from their political slumber and be able to go back and reclaim what has been lost, especially those that have manipulated them or took out of their way- their fathers estate.
That is why HELBIN is organising our annual convention which is taking place today, 29th October, 2021, at City Global Hotel at Port Harcourt Road. The theme of this convention: It is the series of let their light so shine. So believers are supposed to be light. We cannot say we are the light in the society when the unbelievers are controlling the affairs of the land. So it is based on this that we are having let your light shine monthly summit but this particular one is let your light shine convention with the theme ‘re-awaken the giant in you’. Even Jesus at a time was re-awakened by somebody else. It doesn’t matter the level you are, we need to come to re-awaken the giant in us. It doesn’t matter the denomination you are but Christ said we should be one. So this is believers mandate, the invitation is for everybody, all kinds of people, especially Christ believers.
You are talking about raising Christ-centered leaders, how do you intend to do that?
Ok, you see, our eyes are really opened, there were thing we did with our eyes closed. I thought that trust is given but trust is actually earned. There were people we thought were, but experience has shown us that they were not what we thought, so based on all those, we have learnt our lessons and we are relying on the leading of the spirit of God to help us. So that we don’t make the same mistake we made. This time around, we are not going to judge people based on what they told us and what they said, but we are working with independent track records without even their knowledge and their antecedents will speak for them. Our department of research and development is working on that.
What can you say about the security challenges in Nigeria and South East in particular?
Let me talk about the solution. What brings about shooting or destroying people’s property or killing other people. If you can remember Christ message to us, He said that all men should love one another. If you think about the other person as your brother or sister, you won’t think about killing him or her, when you think that someone has offended you, you don’t go using violence to destroy him or her. So the reason why we have insecurity in our country and state is because even the unknown gunmen do not care about the message of love. On the part of the leaders, our people will say, you do not slap a child and tell him not to cry. You that is a leader be it a Governor or Senator or House Member or the President, you are not president of Nigeria against the people. You are president because you were elected to take care of the affairs of the people. If our leaders think that their positions are for their own advancement, then they are wrong, especially thinking that whatever they do for us is out of their benevolence. There is no hope, the leaders need to restore hope to governance and bring back the trust of the citizens.
What is your advice?
My advice is that, let our leaders destroy the spirit of greed and selfishness in them, let them remove the garment of self. Let them know that this life they have is not their own. Let them know that there is a day of reckoning. Everything given to them will be demanded back from them. I pray the people creating tension in the state to stop because two wrongs can’t make a right.
